transforming lives and communities
Since I left my job in the corporate sector in early April 2009, I have spent quality time with my family, church and friends. It has been a great time of rest and pottering about the house after working for 22 years.
Also we took time off as a family to run a Christian Team Building session for a small group of youths at Frazer's Hill in May. We have never done this before as a family, as previously I was too busy running the rat race.
On top of that, I am now having an awesome opportunity to serve with OM (Operation Mobilisation). OM a Christian Mission Organisation working in every continent and on every ocean (via two ocean-going ships). OM seeks to demonstrate and proclaim the love of God.
OM has been influential in Malaysia for over 28 years. OM Malaysia partners with local churches through literature, training and mission exposure programs throughout the year.
It is OM's prayer that Malaysians will Rise Up to fulfill the Great Commission in Asia, South America, Europe, Central Asia, Middle East, Africa and remote places of the world. We are really excited to see how God will bring about Transformation in Malaysia as the Church Rises Up. I will be serving in the OM Malaysia home office as 'Member Care Associate'. This is an exiting role for me, as I will need to be committed to helping applicants with spiritual and practical preparation for missions. I will be working with Malaysians from their first enquiries about missions to seeing them launched onto the mission field. It involves interaction with people from across Malaysia and fellow OMers around the world.
More than anything, I would value your prayers for our home office team and those whose lives will be touched by God through us. I believe that God answers prayers, and I'm asking you to pray for safety, good health, smooth travel, ministry and financial support.
Just know that you will be praying will give me peace as I serve God in this new area.
All opportunities serving with OM are nonsalaried. People joining OM have to raise financial support to cover their living expenses, usually through gifts from home churches and other supporters.
Beyond your prayers, if you are led to join me by financially supporting this mission, I would be grateful.
I want to extend an invitation to you to participate. This is a journey that God has called me to and I would greatly appreciate any level of support you are able to offer.
